I am interested in the quirkiness of the human condition, and reflect that in my work by juxtaposing images that don’t always relate to each other, in order to create a different meaning.
My work is emotionally and intuitively inspired. One of the most common themes I use revolves around issues of security and insecurity, themes that work on both a political and a personal level.
I use a lot of animal images in my work because they evoke a natural empathy, and by using specific animal images, different experiences can be illuminated in a more creative way.
Painting is a process that frees me to express parts of myself that I have difficulty articulating. It is a passion that transports me into another realm, in which I am able to explore different realities. I think most of all it is a search for an inner freedom and vastness that I try to find in my mind.
